If you’re looking for a handmade item to give as a Christmas gift, the Wilmot Community Association’s (WCA’s) Holiday Craft Fair is the perfect place to start. Admission is free.
Featuring more than 45 local artists, this annual event will be held from 9 AM to 2 PM, Saturday, December 2 at the New London Outing Club’s Indoor Center, 114 Cougar Court, New London.
A few booth spaces are available. Registration forms are available on the WCA’s website, www.WilmotWCA.org. You’ll find it on the “Events/Programs” tab.
Vendors will sell a variety a handcrafted items and products ranging from holiday ornaments, pottery, wooden spoons, jewelry, beeswax candles, honey, jams and jellies, and much, much more. Rachel’s Café will sell food and beverages throughout the day.
The WCA will have a Cookie Walk. “There’s no way we could replicate the Wilmot Ladies Aid Society’s fabulous cookie displays from days of yore,” said Meg Dugan, WCA Executive Director. “But we are recruiting bakers and we will sell a wide array of delicious cookies.”
The WCA needs volunteers to staff this event. Note to students: volunteering for the WCA counts toward your community service hours.
Founded in 1963, the WCA is a not-for-profit organization. Throughout the year, the WCA schedules social, recreational, and educational programs and activities. It owns and operates the Red Barn, a community center on Village Road, and Timmy Patten
Park, a beach and playground on Tannery Pond in Wilmot.
