You Can Now Register Your Boat in Andover

2013 dog licenses due

By Joanna Sumner, Town Clerk

We can now register boats at the Andover Town Clerk’s office. After many delays, much training, and new software from Avitar, we are ready to go. We are hoping that this will be a good revenue source for the Town. People do not have to live in town to register their boats here.

Boats that need to be registered:

  • Any boat with a motor (including electric)

  • Sailboats 12 feet in length even if they have no motor

  • Any boat being used in New Hampshire more than 50% of the time

  • Any out-of-state resident using the boat in New Hampshire for more than 30 consecutive days

Dog Licenses

There are still 245 dogs in Andover that have not been licensed for 2013. Please bring in or mail your dog licensing fees as soon as possible. If you want to license your dog online or by mail, please include the $1.00 fee for mailing. The local post office is requiring an extra postage fee of $.20 for us to enclose the dog tag in the envelope.

Tax Relief

The Low and Moderate Income Homeowner’s Property Tax Relief Provision is designed to lessen the economic burden of the State Education Property Tax on certain taxpayers. Any New Hampshire resident who owns a homestead subject to the State Education Property Tax, resides in the homestead as of April 1, 2012, and has a total household income of $20,000 or less (single) or $40,000 or less (married or head of a household) may apply for the property tax relief between May 1 and June 30. Application forms can be picked up at the Town Office.
