Status of Eastern Coyotes in NH to be Discussed

Wed. Jan. 17, 7 PM, at The Andover Community Hub

Press release

Webster resident Chris Schadler, chair of the Webster Conservation Commission and co-founder of the NH Wildlife Coalition, will offer a presentation on “Becoming Wolf: Eastern Coyotes in New Hampshire” on Wed. Jan. 17, 7 PM, at The Andover Community Hub.  The presentation is open to all, with a suggested donation of $5.

Chris will describe the current status of coyotes in the east and specifically New Hampshire, and the species’ biological transition from the smaller western coyote to a gradual mixing with genes of the eastern and grey wolf.  Eastern coyotes are well known for their resilience and adaptability, ability to live on farms, in the forest, or in the city, a species that survives and thrives among us in spite of being widely hunted.
