Renovation of the William A. Bachelder Library’s ceiling was completed on November 10 by Bentwoods Contracting, on budget and on time. This much-needed project replaced the damaged, poorly-insulated and moldy ceiling tiles with high performance foam insulation and new sheetrock that showcases the library’s beautiful original beams.
Thanks go to Dana Taggart and to Ken and Lee Wells for lending the necessary staging. Thanks also go to the crew of library patrons who disassembled the library before the work could begin and to put it back together afterwards.
A grant from the Association for Rural and Small Libraries, in addition to monies from special events such as the 4th of July Book Sale and last summer’s Mini-Golf Tournament, as well as generous donations from folks in our community funded this project. It takes a village to raise a new ceiling!
