Have you ever wondered what would happen in case of an emergency when you needed first responders to come to your residence? In an emergency, in a rural town such as Andover, average response time is double what would be expected in a populated city. Cities have an average response time of eight minutes, where, in a rural town, response time can be 15 minutes or more. 

Every moment counts in an emergency and you can make it easier for your first responders to make their way to your home. You may consider that your home is well marked, but have you tried to find it in the dark with emergency lights flashing? 

Don’t let our emergency personnel waste precious time trying to get to your home. “If we can’t find you, we can’t help you.”

The Andover Emergency Services Auxiliary is excited to announce our newest fundraiser. We are now selling red reflective signs to be displayed at the end of your driveway. These highly reflective signs will make it easier for your address to be seen by police, fire, and EMS. Homeowners’ street numbers will be clearly displayed to help emergency workers find you in the dark as well as in the day, in the event of an emergency. 

We are now accepting orders; order forms can be completed and dropped off at the Main Street station. There’s now a drop box by the fire station door for people to drop off applications for their sign order. Please support Andover Emergency Services by purchasing these signs, making it easier for you to be seen. 

Once we complete your order, we will inform you when we will be delivering it to your home. Residents are responsible for installing their own signs at the end of their driveway. The cost of each double-sided sign is $25, and mounting brackets are an additional $5.

We suggest hanging the sign on your mailbox if one is available. If you do not have a mailbox, a pressure-treated post could be put in the ground in warmer weather, or a delineator stake may be purchased at the hardware store. Our signs are pre-drilled and with the purchase of the brackets, fairly quick to install.  

If no end-of-driveway posting is possible, placing the sign on your house will work too. However, we strongly suggest that these signs are at the end of driveway, helping us identify you quicker!
