Catching up after delays due to supply issues

Progress on the new building for the Highway Department was slowed a bit by material supply issues during the month of January. The light steel needed to complete the interior walls and mezzanine were back-ordered and framing the interior only began in earnest during the first week of February. As this update is published, the interior framing will be completed, the rough-in for plumbing and electrical will be finished, the mezzanine decked over, and stairs will be built to provide access.

March interior work will include installation of durable wall finishes; 3/4” plywood in the open garage area and mezzanine, 5/8” Firecode gypsum board (Type X), and 5/8” Moisture/Mold resistant gypsum (Type MMR) will be hung and finished in the appropriate rooms to allow trim and flooring to be set. The ceiling grids will then be hung.

Permanent heat, the main electric panel, and the water tank will be set as finish in the mechanical room allows. Exterior work (septic system, underground propane tank, generator pad, etc.) will likely begin by late March, unless there is unseasonal warming and a short mud season.
