As someone who grew up in Andover, moved away, and then moved back so that my kids could experience small-town culture, here is what I would like to accomplish as a Select Board member:

* I try to attend as many different Board and Committee meetings as possible. I have seen that the communication between the different Boards/Committees does not always happen. Many times I have shared information I heard at one meeting with members at another meeting. As a Select Board member I would hope we could have quarterly meetings of all the chairs of the different groups to share information and plans and see how that information can be integrated with other groups’ plans.

*  I believe it is very important for Select Board members to closely monitor operating expenses for all the departments.

* I think the Board should encourage citizens to use the Town website, as opposed to Facebook.  Website information is expected to be accurate and current. As citizens become aware of issues in town they should be encouraged to bring their concerns to the Town Administrator as a first step, before going to the Select Board. We are very fortunate to have a very competent and approachable Town Administrator.

* Last, please consider volunteering for the many boards, committees, and groups that keep Andover running.
