Kearsarge Neighborhood Partners (KNP) is a nonprofit dedicated to building a community where neighbors help each other flourish. We collaborate with over 40 community partners serving 10 towns in the Kearsarge region, matching the needs of neighbors with committed volunteers who can help in short-term or longer-term situations.
KNP anticipates some wonderful new beginnings throughout 2024, as we pilot transportation programs to combat isolation and await the groundbreaking of workforce housing in the region. We extend gratitude to our KNP volunteers, community partners, and donors, who band together to make good things possible!
Our Board of Directors and members of committees met for an Annual Meeting at Hilltop in New London on February 26 to review our progress in 2023 and to look ahead to 2024. The “above and beyond” Greta Roberts Award went to Sandi Brownell for her role as an advocate, and for stepping in for Volunteer Director Beth Greenawalt when needed. Bill Turner received the Golden Carburetor Award for his excellent work on Kars for Kearsarge, and Billy Kelly earned the Hire Wire Award for his contribution to our IT systems.
Kudos to our dedicated Communications Team for the impressive 2023 Annual Report. Our 2023 Annual Report, which details how we have collaborated to help the Kearsarge region in the past year, can be viewed on our website: KNPnh.org, 2023-KNP-Annual-Report-Final.pdf.
Transportation pilot programs are underway to help combat the wide-ranging impact of loneliness and isolation in the region. Volunteers can drive children to participate in two New London Barn Playhouse programs. A “Fun, Freedom, and Nature” committee is brainstorming opportunities for volunteers to transport non-driving adults to social and outdoor activities. Please email us if you would like more information, as either a driver or a program participant.
