My fellow readers, this is an article of update on some of the happenings in town:
Road grading and evaluation continues by Highway Supervisor Kevin Duval. Recently hired employees of the Highway Department by the highway supervisor can be seen grading the roads. If we haven’t got to it yet, we will.
Maple Street drainage project is complete (except for the paving). A paving contract was signed after a bid process. Date (TBD) will be put on the website.
Several policies and procedures have been put in place for town employees (more to come). I am blessed to have some very helpful people on a mission to improve communication within our website to keep our citizens informed and aware of happenings. We are currently working on many projects which will help streamline some operations and promote accountability.
Library Ramp at Main Street Library: This project will begin in the month of April and will be completed by Highway department personnel. We expect this project will be significantly less than what was proposed.
Note: When this begins, we will have an alternate entrance to the Main Street library, and it will be posted on the website.
Hall Road Bridge: This will be done by the Highway Department employees, first designing a temporary walking bridge. Currently, a temporary safeguard has been put in place for the damaged bridge deck.
Highway Department update: As you may be aware, our very capable Les Fenton (clerk of works on new highway garage), is reporting a very possible early completion of the garage, and we are anticipating savings of monies that will be returned to the Town.
Readers should be aware that much work continues on many projects that may have been neglected in the past. I am pleased to report we have made some great progress and will continue to do so. Thank you to the many citizens and employees who work together on our team.
