Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. Can’t get enough of the leaves and flowers all around us.
On June 1 we will be having an evening of Prayer and Praise from 7:15-8:30 PM. We are having time for praise and intercession for our church, the community, and the diocese. The “Floodgate Cross” is making its way across every Anglican Church in New England. Accompanied by prayers from other churches before us. The night will be filled with uplifting music and prayers to the Risen King before heading to the next church. The cross will finally land at the Reawakening Conference in October. If you would like more information please check out our website (at the end of the article).
Thank you Colby Jones for the wonderful Easter Sunrise Service video (also on our website).
As some of you know, we were raising money for our church foundation. On May 16 the job was completed by Erickson Solutions Foundation. They did a great job. Also again thank you to all who contributed to this, we so greatly appreciate the help.
Now this brings us to our Rummage/Bake/Premade meals sales scheduled for the last Saturday of the month. We so enjoyed seeing everyone we haven’t seen since our last sale. These will continue through October. Now we are working on raising money to paint or put vinyl siding on the Historical Highland Lake Grange Hall. All proceeds from the rummage sales and the coffeehouse go completely to fixing this building. We are increasingly grateful to the growing gifts of the community on this behalf!
We have started our annual mission between Mother’s Day through Father’s Day. Aspire Women’s Center in Laconia provides us with baby bottles for us to fill with change until Father’s Day, when we collect all the bottles, pray God’s blessing over them, and send them over to the women’s center where all proceeds go towards supporting the mothers and their children. Last year we raised $617.45.
Beginning June 16 we will be raising funds to build a well in Kenya. We’re looking to raise 7K (which will be matched by our diocese) to provide clean drinking water for an entire village. Monies may additionally go to water filtration systems.
One of the highlights of last month was the performance of jazz flutist Rev. Cinnamon Blomquist and her band Jazzperations. The quartet rocked the house with jazz standards and modern arrangements as well to a packed audience. And our booth at the Franklin Days–with our children’s games and prizes–was a wonderful way to meet and greet friends new and old!
A Reminder: The Andover Grange Hall is available for rental for small celebrations or larger civic gatherings. Call Donna Thompson at 603-393-5470 (cell phone) or email at craftydonna@nullmetrocast.net for pricing and availability.
Our services continue to be broadcasted live on Facebook 9:30 Sunday mornings from the church. All are welcome to watch at home, or attend in person. In these days of unrest and global turmoil, it is often refreshing to get some spiritual perspective on life. Rev. Bill remains available to the community for pastoral needs or simply a cup of java. Feel free to call the offices at 603 735-5160, or email andoverchurch@nulltds.net, or contact us through our website andovercommunitynh.org
