Small Libraries, Endless Reading Choices

Andover has two libraries and lots of materials

By Michaela Hoover

Andover is home to two libraries, the Andover Public Library and the William A. Bachelder Library, where everyone from Andover is entitled to a library card. But did you know that your library card allows you to access much more than just the materials in our town’s collection?

Using your smartphone or tablet, you can access the New Hampshire Downloadable Books collection on Libby, which includes eBooks, audiobooks, eMagazines, and more. You can also access similar materials, as well as movies and music, through our hoopla subscription. Interested in free audiobooks and eBooks? Stop by the libraries to sign up for a library card and learn more.

Our libraries are also able to request materials from any library in the state using our Interlibrary Loan system. Books and DVDs are delivered by the State Van Service on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They often have an extra-long checkout period, sometimes as long as eight weeks! Stop by the library or send an email to the librarian (andovernhlibraries@nullgmail.com) to make a request.
