Andover Plans a Sparkling Fourth of July Celebration!

A pancake breakfast starts the day's festivities

Press release

Andover’s Fourth of July celebration this year will be unforgettable. Actually, it kicks off on June 30 at 2 PM on the Town Green with bands Eon Granite, Diamond Special, and Nick’s Other Band performing. Although the concert is free, donations are appreciated (look for the donation barrel).

The morning of July 4th will begin with the pancake breakfast that will be hosted in the Andover Elementary- Middle School’s gym from 7:30 to 10:30 AM; the cost is $12 for anyone six years of age or older and $5 for children five and under.

The Town Green will be hopping with nearly 30 vendors, live music, free children’s games, free play on inflatables, and a variety of food will be available for purchase. The green is open beginning at 8 AM.

Maycee Bartee, an AE/MS 8th grader, will be singing the National Anthem before the parade starts. The parade (Christmas in July theme) will begin at noon and, thanks to the efforts of Donna Smith, you will see participants like the National Guard Band and the Los Muchachos. Uncle Sam has confirmed he will be there too!  Watch for the antique fire truck, where you will see Gretchen Hildebrand who has retired after dedicating 47 years to teaching in Andover.

At dusk, an absolutely amazing fireworks display will be lighting up the sky above Carr Field. A beloved Andover gentleman, who will be celebrating his 90th birthday this year, has made a generous donation which nearly doubled the fireworks budget. It will be incredible!

Prior to the fireworks, Carr Field will have food trucks and free glow sticks. Please be mindful of the parking signs and look for a schedule of events on Andover’s Fourth of July Facebook page or on the flyers available around town

Keep in mind that only a storm will postpone the events until July 6th.

Finally, if you see any Andover Lions Club members please let them know that their commitment to helping Andover thrive and their contagious love of community will never be forgotten.
