Wilmot –  Wilmot Historical Society’s (WHS) book group will discuss Children of Ash and Elm Union by Neil Price at 10 AM, on Saturday, September 14, at the Wilmot Community Association’s Red Barn, 64 Village Road, Wilmot.

The Viking Age saw an unprecedented expansion of the Scandinavian peoples into the world.
Price is a distinguished professor and chair of archaeology at Uppsala University, Sweden. He has researched, taught and written about the Vikings for nearly 35 years.

According to the Times Literary Supplement it said: “A comprehensive, lyrically told, and personal account of the Viking age. … No Other history of the Vikings is as vibrant or expands the scope of the Viking world to encompass not just landscapes,  but mindscapes.”
Copies of the book are available at the Wilmot Public Library and can be ordered from Morgan
Hill Bookstore.

The WHS Book Discussion Group, established more than 10 years ago, meets quarterly –
September, December, March and June. The group discusses books on a wide range of topics.
Most selections are nonfiction, but occasionally the group reads historical fiction. New members
always welcome.

The meeting is free and open to the public. More information is available from Marc Davis at
