ANDOVER – The Andover Service Club (ASC) commences its Fall Speaker Series this month, and invites the public to attend free of charge. All events will be held at the Highland Lake Grange Hall, on the corner of Route 11 and Chase Hill Road, East Andover, NH. The events run 30-45 minutes with light refreshments following the presentations. Mark your calendars for three informative presentations. Note: although the ASC is a women’s group, these presentations are open to both men and women to attend.

On Wednesday, September 11, at 10 AM the ASC welcomes Stacy Luke, a District Manager for the Merrimack County Conservation District and Adjunct Professor of Sustainable Agriculture. Stacy will discuss the NH Gleans Program, a statewide network of organizations working to increase the availability of fresh, local produce to be distributed to community members in need. Stacy will discuss other food security and conservation activities the conservation district conducts throughout the country, and answer questions about ways you can get involved in helping secure food for those in need.

On Wednesday, October 9, at 10 AM, ASC member Kristal LaRoche will be speaking about her service in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). She’ll be discussing facts about the ship, and give an inside look at life aboard a vessel with over 6000 crew. She will also share some of her favorite adventures, including a 6-month Mediterranean tour. As a Torpedoman’s Mate Third Class (TM3), Kristal served in the weapons department as a key member of the ship’s armory. She was a firearms instructor and the captain of a 50-caliber machine gun mount. This is sure to be an exciting discussion.

On Wednesday November 13 at 10 AM Heather Capraro and Brian Lamontagne from Franklin Savings Bank will present an eye-opening seminar on the latest frauds and scams that could affect you and your finances. This informative session will give you the intel and tools to identify a potential threat, and protect yourself, your loved ones, and your finances. Informational reference handouts will be provided to all attendees. You can’t afford to miss this one!
