Skywatch with the New Hampshire Astronomical Society

Saturday, September 28, at 7 PM

Press release

WILMOT – The New Hampshire Astronomical Society (NHAS) will present a Skywatch, at 7 PM, Saturday, September 28, at the Wilmot Community Association’s (WCA) Red Barn, 64 Village Road. NHAS will begin with a presentation about the cosmos inside the WCA’s Red Barn. Then everyone will move outside to observe the wonders of the night sky.

Members of the NHAS will bring some telescopes. You are welcome to bring yours, too. To retain night vision, participants should cover their flashlights with red plastic or red nail polish.

For other sky-viewing tips, please visit our website at wilmotwca.org. Please note that this program is subject to postponement in the event of poor weather.

“We strongly encourage participants to register,” said Meg Dugan, WCA executive director. “That way we can let you know if the program will be postponed as a result of weather conditions.” To register, please email us at wca@nullwilmotwca.org or call 603 526-7934. Please include Skywatch RSVP in the subject line.

NHAS is an all-volunteer, New Hampshire chartered nonprofit educational organization dedicated to furthering public awareness of astronomy. The WCA, a not-for-profit organization, offers free and low-cost events to the local community throughout the year. The association owns and operates two facilities in Wilmot — the Red Barn, a community center, and Timmy Patten Park, a beach and playground.
