WILMOT – Wilmot Fire Department mourned the loss of Life Member Henry Stevens, who passed away August. 29, 2024. Stevens, who joined the department when he was 16, served for 70 years. The department issued the following statement: “As Forest Fire Warden for many years, he played a crucial role in protecting our town. Henry was also instrumental in the construction of our fire station, donating countless hours to ensure its enduring quality as project foreman. He was most proud of the gazebo on our front lawn and the cupola atop the station, both of which he built. His commitment to our community and our department was unwavering.
“We will forever remember Henry for his unmatched dedication, the lasting legacy he leaves behind, and his bright red WVFD hat. “Rest in peace, Henry. Your contributions will never be forgotten.”
