BeaconFest Holds Second Year of Music, Food, and Magic

Rained on, but not rained out!

By Ty Morris

ANDOVER — The second annual Beaconfest, despite the rain, was a lot of fun! Had there been a rain date set, event organizers probably wouldn’t have rescheduled, as the forecast for the day was favorable, even as it was raining! The vendor turnout was greater than before, including sweets and treats, fresh baked bread, and dazzling woodworking and crafts.

The entertainment certainly did not disappoint! Andrew Pinard left us questioning reality with his show Absolutely Magic; Diamond Special, with our own Doug Phelps on lead guitar, shredded to classic and modern rock hits; and then we finished with the enchanting Mara Ferrin and The Ferns Family Band, who are always so wonderful to witness live.

The Beacon would love to thank our local business sponsors for supporting us this year: Andover Pizza Chef, Rich Szollar with Title Mortgage, Colby Insurance, Ty Morris Real Estate Professional, Kearsarge Area Chamber of Commerce, Valle Professional Home and Chimney, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate — The Milestone Team, The Refinery, Byron’s Septic Service, J. Mac’s Small Engine Repair, Naughty Nellies, and JJ’s Market and Deli. We appreciate your assistance and partnerships so very much!

A special thank you to Marie Campbell, Lisa and Laura Defazio, Les Fenton, Beth Page, Sarah Whitehead, our wonderful board of directors, and all of our volunteers, including helpful volunteers Sam, Jacqui, Rozzie, and Maybelle Morris. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Finally, helping us to complete an Andover tradition, thank you to Dave and Kenny Carey of Shadow Lawn Farm, for letting us play Cow Patty Bingo with their cows, bulls, and fencing.

BeaconFest was created to celebrate our communities. It is also one of our year’s largest fundraisers. If you were unable to attend BeaconFest and can show your support, please consider donating today.
