ANDOVER — Got the genealogy bug? Curious about the generations who came before you on your family tree? This workshop will give you the tools you’ll need to get started in learning more about your family and its history.  

An initial session will be held on Tuesday, October 15, at The Andover Community Hub, 6 to 8:30 PM, and if there’s interest from participants, this may turn into a monthly gathering. The leaders of the workshop include Meghan Barton, Pam Cooper, and Karen Hanson, all of whom have spent several years researching their family histories through Ancestry.com. 

They’ll share what they’ve learned and how they did it. Participants will learn how to begin setting up a family tree, what kinds of historical records are available online, and how to do a basic search for family information with Ancestry.com.

Participants should bring a tablet or laptop and be willing to sign up for a $20 per month membership to Ancestry.com (use of a credit/debit card will be required). There is an option for a “free registered guest account”; however, this option has limitations.
