The Giving Tree Helps Neighbors in Need

Donation drop-off November 29 through December 20

Press release

For the fifth year, The Andover Community Hub will launch a community-wide effort to help Andover residents who may be financially struggling this holiday season and throughout the winter. Beginning on Friday, November 29, and continuing to Friday, December 20, members of the community are encouraged to drop off donations in the form of gift cards at The Hub, 157 Main Street.

Donations of gift cards that can be used for groceries, gas, household goods, clothing, or family gifts in any denomination are welcome. These donations will be forwarded to the staff at Andover Elementary/Middle School and the Town of Andover for distribution to those who are in need.

The Giving Tree will begin with the lighting of the holiday tree in front of The Hub. The holiday-decorated mailbox to the right of The Hub’s front door will be lighted and ready to accept donations of gift cards in any denomination at any time during this period.

Gift cards are encouraged because of the flexibility and ease with which recipients can use them, whether for gifts or to meet basic needs. Donors are also encouraged to keep local businesses in mind when purchasing gift cards, providing a boost to such businesses at the same time.

Residents who might prefer to mail gift card donations rather than leave them at The Hub may do so by sending them to The Andover Community Hub, PO Box 157, Andover, NH 03216. For more information or if you have questions, contact The Hub at 603 735-5509.
