SALISBURY — Ruthann Imelda (Murrin) Bentley, 89, of Salisbury, died peacefully in her sleep on October 22, 2024. She was born on September 22, 1935, in Watertown, Massachusetts, to John and Frances (Connors) Murrin. She attended St. Patrick’s High School and graduated from Mount Auburn School of Nursing in 1957.
In 1960, she moved to her great-grandfather’s family homestead in Wilmot Flat, and worked as a nurse at New London Hospital until 1995. She married Robert Bentley in 1964, moved to Salisbury, and together they had three children, John, Heidi, and Chris.
For the past four years she was a resident of the Merrimack County Nursing home. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Katie Bentley in 2007, husband Robert Bentley in 2021, and her three sisters, Frances Imelda Murrin, Joan Gould (Robert), and Catherine Beaulieu (Robert). She is survived by her son John and his wife Cheryl, her daughter Heidi Stetson, her son Christopher, and granddaughters Annie Stetson and Molly and Kelly Bentley.
