By Lois MagenauANDOVER – The Social Justice Group of the Kearsarge Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (KUUF) recently attended a tour on Ona Judd given by the Black Heritage Trail in Portsmouth. Ona was George Washington’s slave who escaped to Portsmouth in 1796 at age 18, subsequently married, and had three children. She stayed in the Portsmouth area until her passing in her mid-eighties. Her story can be found by googling podcasts in her name. The Social Justice Group is part of KUUF, which meets Sundays in Andover’s Proctor Chapel. We welcome you to join us for our many interesting and enlightening sermons and experiences.
