ANDOVER – Philip L. Abair, 70, of Stewart Street, died Friday, January 10, 2025 at the New London Hospital.

He was born in Lebanon, NH on February 13, 1954, the son of Edward Joseph Abair and Eunice E. (Mason) Eastman.

Phil graduated from Kearsarge Regional High School in North Sutton, NH and took many classes throughout the country for small engine repair. He worked for various small engine repair shops ending his career at T & T Power Equipment, Inc. in Concord, NH.

Living his early years in Springfield, he lived in Andover for many years.
Phil was a self-taught guitarist and was the lead for many bands. He had his own band, “Ghost Riders”. He loved playing the guitar and had also played with the local band, Shannon Smith and the Country Caravan. He liked to hunt and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds.

He is predeceased by his parents and a brother, Peter Abair. Phil is survived by his wife of 31 years, Doris (Mailhot) Abair of Andover, NH; three children, Shannon, Heather and Brent; four stepdaughters, Joyce, Robin, Sharon and Lisa; four brothers, Albert, Eddie, Barney and David; four grandchildren; many great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He spent a great deal of time with nephews, Ryann and Chris.

Calling hours will be at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
