The Cinnamon Jazz Quartet plays familiar and improvisational jazz.

ANDOVER — The Cinnamon Jazz Quartet will present an evening of contemporary jazz at the Andover Community Coffeehouse, on Friday, February 21, at 7 PM. The monthly Coffeehouse is held at the Highland Lake Grange Hall in East Andover.

The quartet is made up of accomplished musicians from around the state, including Cinnamon Blomquist on flute, Bill Wightman on piano, Jock Irvine on bass, and Joe Virga on drums. This accomplished group of musicians brings both familiar jazz melodies as well as bold improvisations to the audience.

Music begins at 7 PM, although the doors open at 6 PM for food, sound checks, and up to five open mic sign-ups on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free, although the hat will be passed for donations for the featured act. The evening’s sponsor is Andover photographer Jay Fitzpatrick, who joins six other photographers in a group exhibit to be held at Bar Harbor Bank, New London, through the end of April, Monday through Friday, 11 AM to 4 PM.
