FRANKLIN — Thanks to your kindness and generosity, local animals, neighbors, and community members have benefitted from Franklin Animal Shelter’s presence in the community. It is with great sadness that the Board of Directors shares the news that shelter operations will be suspended due to financial constraints.
Once all remaining animals have a reasonable disposition, the charitable organization known as Granite State Animal League, DBA Franklin Animal Shelter, will be dissolved. Any remaining funds will be donated to another charitable organization dedicated to animal welfare as per its by-laws.
The leadership of New Hampshire Humane Society in Laconia has offered to support Franklin and surrounding communities during this time of change. Needs such as animal adoptions, surrenders, and community resources are referred to New Hampshire Humane Society. FAS donors with a continued desire to support animal welfare in the area may do so at nhhumane.org/donate.
The Board and Staff of the Franklin Animal Shelter offer their thanks and gratitude for all past support received.
