ANDOVER — It’s important for families, schools, and communities to work together to safeguard our kids against online risks in a digital world. Please join us to learn about the dangers teens face daily with technology, such as computers, smartphones, and social media. This presentation will benefit parents, educators, and community leaders by providing insights into how predators exploit these platforms.
Eric Kinsman, from Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), will speak at our school on Thursday, March 20, and Monday, April 7, for our middle school students. ICAC is dedicated to combating internet crimes against children, with over 3,000 arrests and numerous safety presentations this past quarter.
Concerning statistics include: one in five kids aged 10–17 encounters unwanted online solicitations; one in 33 children receives aggressive sexual solicitations; one in six youths aged 9–17 has shared a nude image online.
