CONCORD — Gregory Keith Fleury, age 66, has left this plane and drifted peacefully into the next with family and friends at his side. He died at Concord Hospital on March 2, 2025, due to respiratory failure.

Greg was born in Frankfurt, Germany on April 27, 1958, to Keith G. and Patricia E. Fleury. He attended Wilmot Schools, and ran track at Kearsarge Regional High School, where he graduated in 1976.

Gregory Keith Fleury – March 2, 2025

He was in an automobile accident in 1980, which left him physically disabled. While he was unable to speak, he had many other ways to communicate, including his smile and his bright blue eyes, which would light up a room. After 3 years of rehab, he moved to Manchester in 1983, where he lived independently, attending many adult day-care programs in the surrounding areas. He moved to Merrimack County Nursing Home in September 2024, where he continued to make friends and participate in many activities.

He was always full of life, had a smile on his face, and made friends wherever life took him. He was a people person who loved the company of others and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved the ocean and was fortunate enough to take a family vacation to the coast of Maine for the last several years, where he could visit with his close family, eat lobster, sit in the sun, and enjoy life. Making many tie-dye shirts was the highlight of those trips and Greg loved seeing them all hanging on the clothesline. He enjoyed coffee (especially Dunkin Donuts!), ice cream, animals, kids, music, and owned quite the extensive collection of hats, his favorite one inherited from his brother “Tree.” He was an avid sports fan of all Boston teams and enjoyed watching them on TV.

He was predeceased by his father, Keith in 2009 and his brother, Forrest in 2010. He leaves his mother, Patricia Fleury from Wilmot, his sister Brenda Fleury Lance (Fred) from Andover, his brother Randy “Bam” (Sheila “Pebbles”) from Sutton, nieces Kirsten Fleury, Abigail Lance (Charles Connell), Rebecca Lance Vendt (Josiah), and Emily Lance, nephew Erin Fleury (Ange Runova), great nephews Jake Fleury, Alex Fleury, Calvin Vendt, and Theodore Vendt, as well as many cousins. He also leaves his many dedicated caregivers, especially Belinda Allen Nerl who visited regularly and his most devoted friend and caregiver for over 38 years, Gaetane Houde, who enabled Greg to continue to live independently.

We are grateful for the support and care from Merrimack County Nursing Home staff and Concord Hospital staff, especially the nurses and doctors as we sat vigil around his bedside during his final hours.
