NEWPORT — Andover resident Holly Chevarie ( formerly known as Holly Trott) took first place on March 15, as Dance Pro, dancing with Community Star Josh Howe in this year’s 2025 Newport Dancing with the Stars. Holly Chevarie has taught Ballroom Latin and Swing dance for 25 years and is the owner of local Nidoba Petcare. Josh Howe is a State Police officer for the State of New Hampshire Troop C.
The show was held at the Newport Opera House, on March 14 and 15, and is an annual fundraiser for the Newport Chamber of Commerce. Megan Mavor of The Newport Ballroom is the creative director and choreographer for the show. This is Holly’s second time competing in the show, the first being in 2022, when she won second place.
“It was really rough taking a two-year break and having to leave the show in 2023 due to a severe leg injury, while in the middle of three months of work put into choreography for that show,” says Holly, “and we had to find a replacement for me on very short notice, giving my partner for that year about a month to practice with his new partner before the show. It felt amazing to be back on stage this year and have another chance to compete after healing that injury. . . . I’m so grateful to the Newport Ballroom for this opportunity.”
