Old Business
RTP 2012: No formal letter has been received yet. Nita will be on site during the construction, and will put out “Trail Closed” signage for trail users. Lindy will coordinate the ticket takers in Taffy Johnson’s absence.
Fundraising: Franklin Savings Bank (FSB) designated FNRT to be the recipient of one quarter of the funds raised at FSB’s recent softball tournament, increasing its gifts from the bank this year by about $1,000.
Considering the number of miles of rail trail yet to build, we can hope to apply for RTP funding again in 2013 and raise the balance of funds needed privately to finish the trail construction by the end of 2013, possibly in two phases.
Steve Rayno is looking into alternative fundraising projects for the 2013 January snowmobile dinner.
Maintenance: Sand at Blackwater Park – The Town of Andover is working on fixing the playground area sand erosion problem. Perhaps it should be designated a “Walk Zone” until the problem is solved.
Trail volunteers have been wonderful about taking care of fallen trees etc. The FNRT board is very grateful for their help.
Technology report: The calendar on our Web site is up to date through April 2013. Steve Darling will make sure our Web master gets the latest press releases and pictures posted.
Rack cards: Performa Piper Printing will reprint 5,000 rack cards for us with edits suggested by members of the board. The expenditure of $354 was moved, seconded, and approved.
