Hike on the Deming Property in Elkins

Press release

Join Andy Deegan, Land Protection Specialist/Stewardship Manager for Ausbon Sargent, for a moderate hike on this 125-acre property located at the end of Forty Acres Road in Elkins.  The property contains significant wildlife habitat and includes a mixture of forestland, open fields, fruit bearing trees and bushes, ponds and wetlands.  A particular point of interest on this hike will be a visit to the site of the 2012 forest fire that occurred along the trail that climbs up the west side of the ridge, overlooking Pleasant Lake and Mt. Kearsarge with the Mink Hills in the distance.

Please let us know that you will be joining us by contacting Nancy Smith at the Ausbon Sargent office at 526-6555 or NSmith@nullAusbonSargent.org.  Participants will park and meet on the cul-de-sac at the end of Forty Acres Road in Elkins. (Driving directions: Turn off of Wilmot Center Road onto Whitney Brook Rd. in Elkins.  Follow to Forty Acres and turn left. Forty Acres Road ends in a cul-de-sac at the edge of the Deming property.)
