The fourth in a series of calendars featuring Andover scenes will be presented on July 4 by the Andover Historical Society at its booth on the Village Green. Again this calendar for 2014 has been made possible by the generosity of businesses and individuals who sponsored a month.
The theme for 2014 is Potter Place: Then and Now and features vintage photographs and some modern ones by local people of Potter Place.
Also available at the Fourth of July celebration will be tickets for a drawing on this year’s stupendous raffle basket, including $350 in gift certificates to local businesses, plus handcrafted items including, but not limited to, 36” Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, a decorative shelf clock, shaker tray, hand pottered coffee mug, woolen mittens, hand stamped note cards, necklace, and gift basket of salon products. It will also include New Hampshire maple syrup, barbeque sauce, and jams and jellies, with a total basket value exceeding $600!
Be sure to stop by the Andover Historical Society table on the Village Green on the Fourth of July to get your calendar and historical society publications. They make wonderful gifts for family and friends.
While you’re there, pick up tickets for this year’s giant raffle basket at just $2 each or three for $5, or better yet, 10 for $15! You’ll be glad you did. The drawing will be held on Sunday, August 4 at the Old Time Fair in Potter Place.
