Lee Daniel Murray, of Chesnee, South Carolina, died on September 26, 2012 after a long, courageous battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Lee passed away peacefully at his home in Chesnee.
Lee was born in Boston and raised in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Lee held many different jobs during his life: diesel mechanic, truck driver, and Road Agent for the Town of New Boston, New Hampshire. He was a member of the Road Agents Association in New Hampshire. He moved to Andover in 2004, then moved to South Carolina in September of 2011.
Lee was one of two children born to the late Daniel and Doris Murray, the brother to the late Joyce Boyd, and the much-loved husband of Dianne L. Murray for over 30 years. Lee will be forever remembered by his loving step-daughter Pamela Anfuso and Salvatore Anfuso, her husband; and by step-son William Grigas and Cheryl Grigas, his wife. He also leaves behind two sons, Michael Robbins and Brian Murray. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Christopher and Felicia Anfuso and Jonathan and Nicholas Grigas, along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him.
Lee loved listening to country music, riding his Harley Davidson with Dianne, and being with his family and making them laugh.
Lee touched so many people with his smile, beautiful eyes, and kindness, and maintained his wonderful sense of humor right up until the end.
A celebration of his life was held for his family and friends at his favorite restaurant, Bronco, in Inman, South Carolina. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the wonderful people that aided in his care at Agape Hospice, 1060 Boiling Springs Road, Suite 1, Spartanburg SC 29303.
