Members of Andover’s Tree City effort, Mary Anne Broshek and Susan Chase, joined with Cemetery trustees Robin Boynton and Pat Cutter, as well as Mary Reynolds, Urban Forester, NH Department of Resources and Economic Development, on October 17 to admire a new Red Oak planted at the Lakeside Cemetery in East Andover. It joins several planted last year, also under Tree City auspices and also funded by the Andover Conservation Commission. Thanks to Jon Champagne for volunteering his time and crew to dig the hole and position the tree, and to arborist Mark Barselle of New London for procuring the beautiful little tree. Tree City, USA, which Andover joined in 2009, is an organization which encourages urban and community forestry programs. Photo: Larry Chase
