William R. Tilton, 74, of Lebanon, Maine, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire.
He was born in Concord on June 21, 1939, the son of William J. and Marjorie (Joyce) Tilton. Bill graduated from Andover High School in 1957, served in the US Navy, and then furthered his education at Mass Radio School.
He had been a Glass Operation Specialist and Engineer with GTE Sylvania for many years, retiring in 1988. He lived in Lebanon, Maine for the past 25 years, previously residing in Massachusetts; Kentucky; Hillsboro, New Hampshire; Hampton, New Hampshire; and South Berwick, Maine.
Bill was truly a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and camping.
He is predeceased by a sister, Judith G. Nelson. Members of his family surviving include his wife of 50 years, Nancy (Gove) Tilton of Lebanon, Maine; three children, Tammy A. Tilton of Attleboro, Massachusetts, Terrie L. Tilton of Kennebunk, Maine, and Timothy W. Tilton of Lebanon, Maine; three grandchildren, Spencer, Nathan, and Brandon; a brother, Donald H. Tilton of Wilmot, New Hampshire; three sisters, Joyce T. Rand of Wilmot, New Hampshire, Rebecca A. Perez of Sutton, New Hampshire, and Patricia M. McLeod of Norway, Maine; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on August 29 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Grafton, New Hampshire.
