Road Agent Report
Jim Shaw has begun roadside mowing. He has been instructed as to where not to mow.
Jon reported six or seven driveways that are problematic to Town roads. Jon will provide the Selectmen with a list of the property owners who need to be contacted about their driveways. The Board will send letters to the property owners.
There is a basketball hoop very close to the road on Cilleyville Road. This will be addressed for safety reasons.
There are trees and brush growing into roads so that large trucks must drive in center of road. Next year aggressive cutting will need to be done. A one-third cut per year proposal was suggested. Mishcon: If we get to mid-December and have funds, can we encumber funds for aggressive tree work. Tree work can be done in the winter.
Jon received a quote from Andover Fence Co. for chain link fence for Gale Road Bridge, gates for Tucker Mountain Bridge off Valley Road, and chain link fence for the Lawrence Street Bridge.
Mishcon stated that chain link fence is not permanent and boulders and guardrail would be more effective at the Gale Road Bridge. It was agreed that boulders and vegetation would be more permanent. Proposal-#2 and #3 authorized.
Jon reminded everyone that winter is coming soon. Homeowners should delineate decorative trees, mailboxes etc. Jon also reminded the viewers that it is time to winterize vehicles.
Jon has talked with NHEC about a security light at the pit on White Oak Road.
Jon re-presented three proposals: Ditching, brush cutting, adding crushed gravel. Amount is per day.
