On Wednesday, October 9, the Andover Service Club (ASC) met at the Masonic Lodge in Potter Place. President Mary Ofenloch opened the meeting at 10 AM, welcomed everyone, and asked new members to introduce themselves. Opening words on “Autumn” and “Volunteerism” were read by Lorraine Roberts. The usual committee reports were read and accepted by the members.
Future fundraisers, Thanksgiving Pie Sale and “Gifts Galore” raffle basket, were discussed.
Guest speakers were Judith and Brian MacKay of Danbury. Their topic was informative, covering things to know when retiring, drawing up wills and trusts, probate, powers of attorney, and asset distribution to heirs before and after death.
Light refreshments were served afterwards. The meeting concluded at noon.
The next ASC meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 13, at 10 AM in the Masonic Hall in Potter Place. Any woman who would like to attend may e-mail Mary Ofenloch at MaryO.ASClub@nulllive.com or speak with a member for more info.
