Tanger’s PinkSTYLE Campaign
Pink is a bold color so significant that women everywhere know what it stands for immediately – it stands for hope! This fall, Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton is offering its shoppers a way to join in the fight against breast cancer with its 19th annual PinkSTYLE campaign through Thursday, October 25.
As part of Tanger’s fundraising efforts, shoppers will be able to purchase Pink Cards for a $1 donation each. The Pink Card provides Tanger customers with a 25% discount on a single item at participating stores located at Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton. Proceeds from Pink Card sales will be donated to LRGHealthcare breast cancer awareness initiatives and to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Customers can purchase as many Pink Cards as they would like at Tanger Shopper Services Center or online at TangerOutlet.com. Since 1994, Tanger Outlet Centers nationally has contributed more than $11 million to this important cause through the PinkSTYLE Campaign, 5K races, Pink Partini Events, and other breast cancer-related fundraising events.
Fit For A Cure 5K
The fourth annual Fit for a Cure Family 5K Run/Walk, presented by Under Armour, will take place at Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton on Sunday, September 30, at 8:30 AM. This is a timed and USATF certified 5K (3.1 mile) event.
The first 500 registrants will receive a race t-shirt. All finishers will receive a commemorative participant medal, Tanger shopping discounts, and more. Prizes will be awarded to division winners as well as the top three male and female winners.
Runners can register at TangerOutlet.com/race. The registration fee is $20 for adults, $15 for children under 12 years of age. The event will benefit LRGHealthcare’s breast cancer awareness initiatives and is supported by Tanger Outlets in Tilton, Northeast Communications, Hannaford Supermarkets, AutoServ Dealerships, Belknap Landscape Company, and Skechers. Oncology On Canvas
Launched in 2004, the Lilly Oncology On Canvas Art Competition and Exhibition invites people from the United States and Puerto Rico diagnosed with any type of cancer – as well as their families, friends, caregivers, and healthcare providers – to express, through art and narrative, the life-affirming changes that give their cancer journeys meaning.
In collaboration with LRGHealthcare, this free public exhibition will showcase select pieces of art from the 2010 Lilly Oncology On Canvas competition. The exhibition will be on display from Monday, October 1, through Monday, October 15, in the Lakes Region General Hospital Atrium in Laconia.
Lilly Oncology On Canvas is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that improve the care of people living with cancer, in partnership with the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS). NCCS is a nonprofit cancer organization that advocates for quality cancer care for all people touched by cancer and provides tools that empower people to advocate for themselves. TREK Breast Cancer Awareness Ride
Join Goodale’s Bike Shop on Saturday, October 13, for its seventh annual TREK Breast Cancer Awareness Ride (10 miles or 25 miles) to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention, screening, treatment, and to help fund a cure. All the registration money goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The event includes door prizes and a sweepstakes to win a TREK Lexa. For more information, visit GoodalesBikeShop.com.
Colby-Sawyer Volleyball
If you dig cancer research and patient services, then you’ll love the annual Colby-Sawyer women’s volleyball Dig Pink game! This year the Chargers play Simmons College on Saturday, October 20 at the Hogan Center. Game starts at 7 PM, and tickets are just $4 for adults and $2 for children and students from other schools. Making Strides, Manchester
Manchester’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 3.5-mile non-competitive walk will happen on Sunday, October 21, at 10:30 AM in Arms Park, between the Merrimack River and Commercial Street. For more information, visit MakingStridesWalk.org/ManchesterNH.
GhostRunner 5K
On Sunday, October 28, the GhostRunner family fun 5K Road Race/Walk at Mine Falls Park in Nashua as a fund-raising event to support the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition (NHBCC), an all-volunteer, statewide grass roots breast cancer organization.
The proceeds from the race will benefit NHBCC’s Support Services Fund to help low-income and uninsured New Hampshire breast cancer patients pay for critical expenses and services that are not covered by other resources. For more information, visit GhostRunner5K.com.
