Press release

What do you need when you retire? Have you planned?

Individuals need to plan ahead to ensure that many years of work will serve them best in their retirement years, also. A proper estate plan is important and needs to be in place to fit the needs of each individual’s own personal situation.

Families typically never know when they will be needed, but when that time appears in a hurry, what legal documents should be in place to ensure your assets can be managed properly during their life and pass properly at death? How does the federal social security program work, and what are your retirement options? The customized levels of benefit eligibility can be confusing and, therefore, put individuals at risk for not maximizing benefits best suited for your needs.

To educate central New Hampshire individuals and families on their options, Independence Financial Advisors, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Savings Bank, is offering complimentary educational sessions. Learn about Estate Planning on Wednesday, March 12, at the Boscawen Office of Franklin Savings Bank (139 King Street) from 6 to 7 PM or on Tuesday, March 25, at the Bristol Office of Franklin Savings Bank (350 Lake Street) from 6 to 7 PM.

To seek knowledge of Social Security options with an additional focus on Medicare, attend a session on Thursday, March 13, at the main office of Franklin Savings Bank (387 Central Street) from 6 to 7 PM; on Tuesday, March 18, at the Gilford Office of Franklin Savings Bank (11 Sawmill Road) from 6 to 7 PM; or on Thursday, March 20, at the Tilton Office of Franklin Savings Bank (61 Laconia Road, near the Tilt’n Diner) from 6 to 7 PM.

All three sessions will educate attendees on the many facets of Social Security, including:

  • How your retirement benefits and those of a spouse are calculated
  • Your eligibility for full retirement benefits
  • Choices you have when starting to receive benefits
  • How benefits are effected when a spouse dies
  • How to apply for Medicare
  • Different parts of Medicare

Additionally, the Estate Planning session in Bristol and Boscawen will include:

  • Why should you have an estate plan
  • Important legal documents you should not be without
  • Difference between a Will and a Trust

You are invited to bring a guest and your questions to one or both of these free, educational sessions. Seating is limited. To make a complimentary reservation, call Pam Hannan at 934-8372 or (800) 821-1776.
