Kearsarge Middle School Creates Chain Reaction of Kindness

The Kearsarge Middle School students created a giant paper chain of recycled paper to symbolize "SPREADING KINDNESS: A CHAIN REACTION".The Kearsarge School District pioneered the program of distance learning when school is cancelled due to weather; the program is called "blizzard bag". Each student is randomly assigned to a "community" to represent a cross section of the total middle school community. The school engages in an all-school read focusing on fostering kindness and respect in the school community. Following the day away from school, staff and students met in their blizzard bag community to discuss the assignments for the day, but also focused on on building a "chain reaction of kindness" from recycled paper. The chain was constructed from [nearly] 500 links with words of kindness printed on each.
