I have lived in town for over 25 years, but have been coming here as far back as I can remember.
I’m running for Selectman because I know that I can help in the areas where the town needs it most.
As some of you know, I come from a long history of loggers, lumbermen, and construction men. I served as your Road Agent, appointed in 2000 by the Board of Selectmen with very little budget left to operate on.
After that, I continued in the excavation and timber trade. I’ve harvested a lot of timber here, and for some of you I put your houses in, including the foundation, plus changed leach fields and did land improvement. Then I took a job on, doing the same type of work in Wilmot for the last 11 years.
I’m against the million-dollar loan. Don’t let low interest rates pull you in. We can do this ourselves with the budget we establish each year. Some of these projects don’t have to be done start-to-finish in one year, and others we can buy the parts and pieces one year and put it together the next.
If we don’t get a handle on this and start making our tax dollars work for us, we’re headed deeper and deeper in the hole with only high taxes to show for it.
Folks, come out and vote, and be proud of your town and its capabilities.
