Fight Childhood Cancer — Get Your Head Shaved!

March 29, 4 PM, at Proctor Academy

Press release

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest private, volunteer-driven charity fighting childhood cancer in the United States. It raises both funds and awareness of childhood cancer through head-shaving events across the nation.

On Saturday, March 29 at 4 PM, several dozen people (perhaps many more!) will sit for haircuts at Proctor Academy’s Farrell Field House at 12 Field House Lane in Andover. Some “shavees” are sponsored by friends and relatives. Others are contributing their own donations.

First responders, firefighters, police officers, and military troops have been a big part of St. Baldrick’s from the beginning. Thousands have added head-shaving to their public service. To date, 10 Andover firefighters have signed up to have their heads shaved, and likely more will follow.

You are invited to be a hero to children fighting cancer by attending in any capacity, whether you have your head shaved, sponsor a shavee with a donation of any size, or simply join the excitement of this great cause!

To sponsor a shave, simply go to the St. Baldrick’s Web site at StBaldricks.org and type “Proctor Academy” into the “Search for people or events” box at the top of the page. Then click the “donate” button next to your favorite shavee.
