Ragged Mountain Resort in Danbury recently completed a land conveyance to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (NHF&G). The conveyance, which has been in the planning stages since 2008, permanently transfers 100 acres of wetlands and wildlife habitat to the NHF&G.

The conveyance is the first step in a plan put together by Ragged Mountain Resort as part of its overall plans to dedicate approximately 80% of Ragged Mountain’s 2,100 acres as open space. “We are very pleased that this conveyance has been finalized,” noted Bob Ashton, President of Ragged Mountain Resort. “This is another important step as we continue to move forward with our exciting plans for the resort.”

Ashton explained that the developer of Ragged Mountain Resort, Salt Lake City-based Pacific Group, has made similar conveyances and conservation easements at other projects in which it has been involved. “Wolf Creek Ranch near Park City, Utah, is a good example,” said Ashton. “The conservation easement at that project is over 80% as well, and in that case it covers more than 12,000 acres. Pacific Group has a strong belief that people and wildlife want to have access to open space, and that open space must be preserved.”
