Dear AEMS Family,

We’re back….! I hope everyone had a great vacation!

Students in grades 4 – 8 will learn bread baking skills in an assembly this afternoon. A representative from King Arthur Flour will also supply the students with the flour and tools needed to go home and bake two loaves of bread. One loaf should be enjoyed by the family and the second loaf should be returned to school on Monday, March 10th. The loaves will be donated to the Bread and Roses Soup Kitchen and the Andover Food Pantry. Bread and Roses servers are already planning on serving the bread with Monday night’s meal. Thanks for your help.

Tomorrow is the last Ski Day for 2014! Skating has already ended for the year. Teachers have activities planned for the afternoon.

Pi Day is next Friday, March 14th! There will be lots of math related activities  and contests throughout the day. Students and staff are working to memorize as many of the digits of Pi as possible. The Pi challenge is attached – Enjoy! We will also be enjoying whoopie Pi’s, receiving Pi pencils, and enjoying a Pi-themed lunch.

The second trimester is nearing an end. Grades close on March 14th. Report cards will come home with students on March 28th.

We are setting breakfast participation records! Today 67 students enjoyed breakfast!

Congratulations to our Box Top Winners – Lily Menard and Ethan Dukette. Another big Box Top check is headed our way to support the replacement and repair of playground equipment. Please continue sending those Box Tops in. They really do add up!

Reminder – Those students who are participating in the Fisher cats Reading Challenge should mail their completed form back to the Fisher Cats before March 10th.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call.

Sincerely,

Jane Slayton
