It took 14 rounds to pick the winner

On March 7, 33 AE/MS students in grades four through eight participated in the school spelling bee. This year’s bee was full of challenging words such as omniscient and cajolery.

Our AE/MS 2014 Spelling Bee Champion is seventh grader Lexi Emeny. Her winning championship round word was pharmacy.

This year’s runner up was another seventh grader – Jack Newton. The two finalists went through 14 rounds before we were able to declare a winner.

Lexi’s name will be placed on a plaque in the lobby alongside other former AE/MS Spelling Bee Champions.
