The New Hampshire Fiddle Ensemble, a state-wide community and professional ensemble of over 50 adults and youth, will perform a benefit concert for the Franklin Opera House on Sunday, April 13 at 2 PM at the Franklin Opera House (Franklin City Hall) in Franklin.
Players are community members, including local doctors, teachers, veterinarians, retired firefighters, excavators, and more. They join with professional musicians to bring you an exciting program of fiddle tunes and sing songs of many styles.
Community members who play fiddle, guitar, mandolin, viola, and bass have been rehearsing since December in locations throughout the state and will join with professional musicians in an upbeat and enjoyable program that includes Irish, bluegrass, Swedish, swing, rock, blues, country, and Scottish music. Rehearsals have taken place in Exeter, Tilton, Somersworth, and Conway. The group consists of over 50 adults and youth from ages 8 to 80.
The Franklin Opera House (FranklinOperaHouse.org) has a mission of being the destination for distinctive, quality arts and entertainment for central New Hampshire. The historic building provides a unique and wonderful venue for the arts.
