The New Hampshire Electric Co-op Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 2014 scholarships. This year a total of six $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to deserving Co-op members or children of Co-op members.
Scholarships are available to college-bound high school seniors, students returning to college, and non-traditional students. One scholarship will be reserved for a student entering a vocational or technical institution. All applicants must be a Co-op member, or a legal dependent of a Co-op member. Complete details and applications are available online under the Community menu at NHEC.coop or by calling (800) 698-2007.
Applicants will be judged on work experience, activities, leadership and community contributions, educational and career objectives, and overall scholastic achievement. Based on those scores, approximately 12 to 15 applicants will be invited for a personal interview conducted by the Awards Committee.
The deadline for applying is April 25 at 4 PM. All mailed applications must be postmarked by this date and mailed to NHEC Foundation Scholarship, 579 Tenney Mountain Highway, Plymouth 03264. Otherwise, they may be turned in at NHEC headquarters in Plymouth by 4 PM on April 25.
The New Hampshire Electric Co-op Foundation Scholarships are funded by the donations of Co-op members who agree to have their monthly electric bills rounded up to the next dollar with the proceeds benefiting the Foundation. The NHEC Foundation welcomes tax-deductible donations to continue its mission of providing support for non-profit groups that enhance the quality of life in New Hampshire.
