Many events at the libraries this summer

By Janet Moore, Libraries Trustee

Got time on your hands? Spend it in the Andover Libraries!

On Saturday, June 4, at 10 AM, bring your family to our annual Fairy House Building Project at the Andover Library. Or color your worries away at the Bachelder Library on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 PM with the Coloring and Tangling group.

Need something meditative and physical? Yoga class meets Tuesdays from 5:45 to 6:45 at the Bachelder Library. And if all else fails, join the children’s play group there every Saturday morning.

Remember to come to the annual Fourth of July Book Sale the evening before the Fourth; that evening is dedicated to Andover residents only. We are still taking donations of good used books and DVDs for the sale; just be sure to drop them off inside the libraries, please.

Want books? Try these new titles, available at your libraries:

  • Laura Lippman’s Wilde Lake
  • Anna Quindlen’s Miller’s Valley
  • John Hart’s Redemption Road
  • October Sky author Homer Hickam’s Carrying Albert Home: The Somewhat True Story of a Man, His Wife, and Her Alligator
  • Newbery Medalist Kate DiCamillo’s Raymie Nightingale

And for your viewing pleasure, check out In the Heart of the Sea for seasonal thrills and chills.
