A Great Impact at AE/MS

The AE/MS school community is mourning the loss of school bus driver Christine Mitchell. Christine has been the driver for Bus #1 for several years. Christine’s involvement at AE/MS was more than just driving a bus. Christine often was the driver for field trips and athletic trips, and she even substituted in the school kitchen. Christine took her bus driving position seriously and rarely missed a school day. The safety of her students was always her primary concern. Christine cared about her students, and they knew that. She looked forward to hearing about their day or wishing them luck in the morning when she knew they had a test or presentation.

AE/MS lost a good friend and a big fan. Christine’s passing shows how one person can have a great impact within a small community. Christine will be missed.

Chris enlisted in the United States Air Force and completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. She became a member of the 175th Air National Guard and served in Desert Storm where she received several awards.

Chris loved her job as a school bus driver for First Student in the Andover School District. She enjoyed her kids on the bus and her other bus-driving family.

Chris also loved animals and had many pets at their home. She loved flowers and planting her garden. She also loved nature, being in the woods, and riding her Harley. Chris liked to collect Coca-Cola bears, and her favorite songs were When Doves Cry and Purple Rain by Prince.

Chris will be missed by her aunt and uncle, Jadzia and Sid Kerr, her cousins Nick and Katrina, her niece Kaylee, as well as all who knew her. We will always love her and hold her near.

Graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, June 3, at noon at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery at 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
