The month of June marks the end of fiscal year 2015-2016 for the Andover Service Club (ASC). The annual spring luncheon in the Millstone at 74 Main was a culinary delight, as usual.

The election of the Executive Board for fiscal year 2016-2017 took place at the luncheon. The slate of officers, as presented, was unanimously approved by the members. The officers for the coming year are President, Mary Ofenloch; Secretary, Eileen Mackey; Treasurer, Robin Boynton; 1st Vice President, Mary Phinney; 2nd Vice President, Evelyn Davis; Corresponding Secretary, Judy Evans; Assistant Treasurer, Sandy Miller.

Diane Rice was presented with a special gift from the members in gratitude for her many months and days as 1st Vice President on the Executive Board and as Chair of the Merit Scholarship Program.

The 2016-2017 budget was presented, and after some discussion on future additions to the budget, the ladies voted unanimously to accept the budget as proposed.

Judy Evans, who also chairs the Fundraising Committee, spoke of the annual pie Slices for Scholarships fundraiser to be held on the Village Green on the Fourth of July. Members signed up for pie baking and selling of the large assortment of delicious pies to be available by the slice for people to enjoy. All proceeds will benefit the ASC Merit Scholarship Fund.

There are no meetings in July and August, since we all need some time for rest and recreation. The President, Treasurer, and 2nd Vice President, who is also Membership Chair, will meet at the end of July to update the ASC Membership Book for printing and distribution to the members.

General meetings will resume on Wednesday, September 14, at 10 AM in the Highland Lake Grange Hall. Any woman residing in Andover or surrounding communities who would like to participate in the many activities sponsored by ASC, please join us on September 14.

Recipients of funds raised by the ASC include The Andover Beacon, Andover Food Pantry, East Andover Village Preschool, Andover After-School Program, Kearsarge Council on Aging, Highland Lake Grange Hall Restoration, Child and Family Services, Danbury School, and Friends of the Northern Rail Trail. \

This June, four $1,000 scholarships were awarded to outstanding students: Karen Niemyer, Kristi Perrault, Nathalie Tur, and Ben Yusko. Great job, students!

The ASC ladies want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported our fundraisers during the past year. We could not do it without you. Have a wonderful summer!
