Press Release

The Boston Civic Symphony, now in its 93rd year, makes its sixth appearance in New London as part of the Summer Music Associates Concert Series. The players are exceptionally talented students and amateur musicians who perform a wide variety of music from all musical genres – Baroque to Modern. A primary objective of the orchestra is to provide an orchestral setting to train young musicians who are pursuing professional careers. The orchestra has a tradition of presenting young solo performers.

This season’s concertgoers will be introduced to John Castillo, an exciting young baritone who will perform arias from Rossini, Mozart, and Bizet. Elizabeth McCormack, a stellar flautist, will thrill audiences with the Fantasie by Georges Hue. Also on the program is the Rossini Overture to La Gazza Ladra and Brahms 2nd Symphony.

Children’s and student’s tickets for all the Summer Music Associates concerts are only $5, and we hope many families will take advantage of this low price.

All concerts begin at 7:30 PM. Ticket prices are $25 for adults and $5 for students. Season tickets are $100 for five concerts. Tickets are available on the Web site at: summermusicassociates.com; by phone 603-526-8234; by mail, PO Box 603, New London, New Hampshire 03257; at the door; or by check or cash at Tatewell Gallery, Morgan Hill Bookstore, and the New London Chamber of Commerce.
