Andover School Board – Update on AE/MS renovation project and a non-binding consultation with John Healey with CCI Construction Company regarding a building permit for renovations to AE/MS.

Plans of the renovations were presented to the board for review.  The building project was presented at the 2017 School Board Annual Meeting and was approved. There will not be a lot of exterior site impact. The plan calls for an addition of six room on the southeast corner and an area for a freezer and cooler on the rear of the building. A sprinkler system will also be added to the building.

Concerns of the board included:
1. Will there be any drainage work done? The response was no.
2. Will there be any changes to the roof?  The response was no, the engineer indicated the roof is in much better shape than previously thought.
3. Has any thought been given to the use of alternative energy, now or in the future?  The response was it was considered in the original plan but eliminated to reduce the overall cost of the project.
4. Was solar considered? The response was that it was in the original plan but was eliminated to reduce the overall cost of the project.
5. When is construction expected to be started?  The response was March of 2018.
6. Will there be any lighting added and was the lighting standards in the Zoning Ordinance reviewed prior to any decisions?  The response was yes, security lighting and they would be down-lighting.
7. Doesn’t need Site Plan Review due to being a municipal project.

Teach requested they apply for a building permit.
